Login and Use the Client Portal

You’ve invited your client to access and use the Client Portal. Now what?

This article shows you what happens on the client's side once the invite has been received. That way, you can see what the Client Portal looks like from the client’s perspective.

Note: This article assumes that you’ve set up the Client Portal in BigTime and sent the client invite.

Say you just sent an invite to your client in BigTime.

Your client, in turn, will receive an email inviting them to join the Client Portal. It’ll look like the email below.

Activate the Client Portal

Once your client clicks on the hyperlink in the email, a new tab will appear with a login screen.

Note: the company logo that’s in BigTime will be included on this window.

The username will be pre-populated with the contact’s email. They just have to create a password. Then, they click CREATE ACCOUNT.

This will direct the contact to the Client Portal.

Notice that the PROJECT TEAM is listed on the far right of the Dashboard.

This is a list of all team members in the Portal. Filter team members by project by clicking on the picklist under All Jobs, located near the top-right corner of the Dashboard.

There are also two options at the top of your window: DASHBOARD and INVOICES. We’ll explain both options.

Dashboard

The Dashboard lists all unpaid invoices. Any invoices that are currently open or past due will be listed here.

Your client can BULK PAY invoices, by checking the box next to multiple invoices.

Then, click PAY SELECTED near the top-right corner of the window.

Or pay a single invoice by clicking PAY NOW.

Either way, the client is directed to the BigTime Wallet landing page to make the payment.

Bulk payments are a convenience for your client. When they use this feature, they pay the selected invoices with one submission. But it'll be submitted as separate transactions.

Invoices

Now if your client toggles over to INVOICES, their window will look like the image below.

All of your client’s invoices are listed in this view.

Here are a few important points to note:

  • The far-right column shows a summary of all invoices: total invoices, the number of unpaid invoices, the number of overdue invoices, and the total amount unpaid.
  • There are three invoice statuses: open, paid, or past due. The status displays under the Current Status column.
  • Bulk pay invoices by checking the box next to the invoices that you want to pay. Then, click Pay Selected.
