How to View a Visual Relational Schema of Data Hub

This guide walks you through the steps to view a visual relational schema of your Data Hub in Power BI. By following the outlined process, you’ll be able to publish your dataset and access an interactive diagram that shows how your tables are structured and interconnected. This is especially useful for understanding data relationships and optimizing report design.

 

Begin by selecting File from the top menu in Power BI Desktop.

Next, click Publish and select Publish to Power BI.

Select your desired workspace to publish to, then click Select.

It will process for a few seconds, and then show a confirmation. Click the Open ‘{file name}.pbix’ in Power BI text link, and it will launch in your default internet browser.

Here, click Workspaces in the left navigation bar.

Click the name of the file for the Semantic Model type.

In the top bar, click Open Data Model.

You’ll now see a visual of the schema, with each table, each table’s respective fields, and the keys that connect them.
