BigTime is excited to release Build AI, our AI-powered conversational report builder that’s redefining how organizations create custom reports. Now available in early access for Advanced and Premier firms, Build AI allows admins to quickly start building reports through a conversational interface, generating the correct report columns through a brief chat with the Build AI agent.

Build AI is a key step in BigTime’s vision for AI-powered features that will help you get the most out of your data. By simply describing what you need in a conversation, Build AI identifies the most relevant data columns, generates a preview report in seconds, and allows you to either further customize the report details or share it across your firm. Whether you're looking to organize billable hours or track project progress, Build AI jump-starts your process and helps you get more out of your data in minutes.

What can Build AI do?

Building a custom report can feel overwhelming, but not anymore. With Build AI you can jump-start the process in minutes, but first you’ll need to tell Build AI what you’re looking for. Try some of the following sample prompts:

Getting Started with Build AI

Walk through the Build AI report generation process in the interactive demo above, or follow these set of steps:

To begin creating a report with Build AI, navigate to the New Report Center by clicking Analytics...Reporter Center (New). Press "Create Report" in the upper right corner.

You will be prompted with 2 choices. Select "Build AI" for the conversational report builder experience. Choose "Build From Scratch" to resume the normal report building process.

Build AI will introduce itself and give you an example of a prompt to try! See some more Sample Prompts above. 

Enter your prompt, and when ready, press the Arrow / Send button to send it. 

Build AI will take a second to prepare the report. The other actions you can take in this Build AI message are to Clear and Restart the chat history, or Cancel out of the Build AI modal altogether. 

When Build AI is finished identifying and building the correct columns for you, you will be automatically redirected to an AI Generated Report Preview. The Report Preview gives you an idea of your data rendered in the suggested report columns, to give you the insights that you need based on your initial query.

This is not your final report - you can either customize your report, or if you are satisfied, publish the report. 

If you want to make further adjustments to your report like adding / removing columns or adding filters / groups, press "Customize". This will take you into the traditional report wizard where you can edit and remove columns like normal. 

Press "Options" to configure Grouping, Filtering, or Permission customizations.

Click into the columns to view customization settings like column labels, text alignment, and drill down links. Click the arrow icons to move columns left and right. Add or remove a column via the plus and minus icons.

Click "Preview Report" in the Customize view to see it rendered in an AI Generated Preview with data - it will open in a new tab.

If satisfied, click "Publish Report". A window will pop up to give the report a title, select an existing folder in the Report Center to publish to, and an optional description.

Click "Publish Report" and your Build AI-generated report will now be available immediately in the Report Center!

Adding Filters, Groups, and Permissions

For the Early Access program, Build AI is optimized to identify a foundational set of report columns to gain the right insights into your data. To apply manual customizations like data filters, column groups, user permissions, and report styling customizations - you can do this by pressing “Customize” in the AI Report Preview mode.

For our first wave of Early Access, we have developed Build AI as an expert in identifying the correct data columns for the insights that you are looking for. Below is a list of known limitations that we will continue to monitor in Early Access feedback for continuous development.

NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:

Conversational Customization of Reports - Build AI currently requires manual customization of applying date filtering, grouping, sorting, and setting user permissions. You can access these additional controls by pressing “Customize” in the AI Report Preview state.

Integration with BigTime AI Assistant: We have recently launched the BigTime AI Assistant in our platform, at this time Build AI is a separate experience within the platform. These two AI agents do not have historical knowledge of separate conversation sessions.

Which AI service is BigTime using? 

Build AI leverages OpenAI’s GPT LLM. For more information, please review OpenAI’s Privacy and Security Articles. We are committed to working with partners who respect your privacy and uphold high data protection standards to ensure transparency and maintain your trust.

Which subscription tiers include Build AI?

Build AI is available for Advanced and Premier customers, with existing functionality to build custom reports.

Is my data used to train AI models?

All data processed by Build AI is governed by the same Privacy Policy that applies across BigTime. At BigTime, we deeply respect your privacy and the security of your data. The information you provide is securely stored on our internal servers and is never shared with any third parties. We use conversation history exclusively for internal research, aimed at enhancing our products and services. You can be confident that your data will never be used to train public AI models or disclosed to outside entities.
