Changing Your Email Address

Since your user login is based on your email address, this article will show you how to change that email within the My Profile page.


Note: You must have access to the email account you are attempting to use.  BigTime sends a confirmation email to that address which you must click on before your profile can be updated.


1. Choose the MY PROFILE icon on the main menu. Users can change their email from their My Profile screen. To get there, select the PROFILE icon in the main navigation bar at the top of the page.

2. Choose the MY PROFILE button in your account picklist. It will take you to the profile dialog where you can change your email, beneath the USER INFORMATION header.

3. Enter your new email address in the space provided.  Note that, when you do, the system will warn you that an email confirmation is required.  Again, if you don’t have access to this new email account, you won’t be able to complete this update.


4. Click the SAVE button to update your email address. Once you do, you’ll get a confirmation email.  Click the link in that email in order to confirm your new email address. If you don’t see the email, then check your spam folder.


Your login won’t be updated until you click the confirmation link.

If you don’t get the confirmation email, you can still login to BigTime using your old email address.  When you do, your profile will have an option to re-send the confirmation email in case it was deleted or blocked by your company’s spam filters.



How will it affect my email login if I have been invited to more than one firm?

Every login is associated with one email. At any given time, you will have a single BigTime email login. For example, if you logged into BigTime with a Gmail account and then decided to change your email address, this change will apply to all firms of which you are a member in a single action.

Why do I have to verify my email address when I change it?

As a security precaution, you will have to confirm your identity by clicking on the link in the system email every time you change your email address. Though your system administrator can change your contact email in the Staff List, that will not affect the email address that you use to login to BigTime.  Only you can change your personal login/profile data.

What if I haven’t received my confirmation email from BigTime?

Check your spam folder to make sure it hasn’t gone there. If not, check your Profile to make sure that you entered the email address as intended. If this doesn’t resolve your issue with the missing confirmation email, contact for assistance.
