A benefit of the task editor is using hotkeys. This article explains the different key combinations you can use.
Arrow keys (left, right, up, down) to move among cells in all directions. After you move to a new cell, the value in the new cell becomes highlighted. In the example below, we used the right arrow key to move from $200 in the fees column to 200 in the estimate column. Notice that “200” is highlighted, so we can now add a new value.
Tab key moves your cursor across the screen horizontally.
Enter key moves your cursor vertically within a column.
ALT+Down arrow key opens a picklist—if you’re in a cell that uses the picklist function like “Type.” Then, you can use the arrow keys to move up and down the picklist.
Ctrl+End adds a sub-task.
Ctrl+Insert adds a task below your cursor.
