With QuickBooks integration, you have the ability to sync payment data from BigTime and have QuickBooks automatically create journal entries to keep a record of payment details. However, it may be the case that you don't want to create journal entries when syncing payments from BigTime. If this is the case, you can turn off automatic journal entry creation within BigTime. This article will explain the steps you’ll need to follow to do so.
First, you’ll need to open your invoice configuration settings. Go to INVOICING…CONFIGURATION from your main toolbar. A pop-up configuration window will appear with a number of tabs at the top. Open the PAYMENTS tab, and then open the ACCOUNTS sub-tab.
You’ll see three fields: UNDEPOSITED FUNDS, PRIMARY BANK ACCOUNT and TRANSACTION FEES. You’ll also see a checkbox labeled DISABLE AUTO POSTING WALLET PAYMENTS TO QUICKBOOKS. If you want to turn off the creation of journal entries, you’ll need to set the PRIMARY BANK ACCOUNT and TRANSACTION FEES as blank, and uncheck the DISABLE AUTO POSTING WALLET PAYMENTS TO QUICKBOOKS. Make sure you leave the UNDEPOSITED FUNDS field filled out with the appropriate data. Then, click the blue SAVE button.
After following these steps, QuickBooks will still sync your payments, but will no longer automatically create journal entries. If you change your mind, you can always go back to the window above and fill out the fields to trigger QuickBooks to create journal entries again.
