BigTime’s resource planning features help you better allocate tasks to the right staffers and keep within the budget for your projects. One of the perks of resource allocation in BigTime is the ability to view projected fees for your project tasks. Projected fees are calculated by multiplying your staffer’s allocated hours by their bill rates, and they can tell you exactly how your allocated hours are impacting your fee budgets and projects.
To view the projected fees for a given project, you’ll first need to go to the dashboard for that project. Click MY COMPANY…PROJECT LIST from your main navigation bar.
Now, click on the hyperlinked name for your chosen project.
In the project dashboard, go to the TASKS tab, and then click the ALLOCATIONS sub-tab.
Find the EDIT ALLOCATIONS button at the bottom right corner of your window and click on it to open your allocation editor.
Now, you’ll be able to see your assigned staffers, their allocated hours, and other details about your tasks. This is where you’ll also be able to see the projected fees associated with your tasks. They will be labeled ALLOCATED FEES, and you can find those amounts to the right side of the screen beside each task below the ALLOCATED HRS value.
If a dollar amount is GRAY, then the allocated fees are either below the fee estimate amount, or the fee estimate for that task is $0.00. When a dollar amount is GREEN, then the allocated fees are equal to the fee estimate. If the dollar amount is colored RED, that means the allocated fees have surpassed the fee estimate for the task.
Now that you know how to find your projected fees for tasks and how to interpret them, you can familiarize yourself with other aspects of resource allocation. Take a look at some of the articles below to learn more:
