Getting Started With Custom Fields for Projects

Create a custom field in BigTime when you want to add extra information about a project. A website link, picklist (dropdown menu), or text box are among the many options you can incorporate in your custom field.

These are examples of custom fields:

Takeaways

  • Add a custom field when you’ve got extra information about a project. It’s a means of personalizing your projects in a way that resonates with you.
  • Incorporate as many custom fields as you’d like! You’re able to add one or many custom fields, and of various types. That means you can add some website links, a couple of important dates, and a few text boxes of information to your project.
  • Create a custom field for one project and it is added to all of your projects. However, the contents of the custom field is changeable within each project.

For example, say we create a custom field called “Writing Style” in a project for ABC Studios. “Writing Style” is now applied to all of our 15 projects in BigTime.

However, the contents are project specific. That means we can add “Chicago-Manual of Style” in the custom field in the ABC Studios project, and “MLA Style” in the custom field for the XYZ Studios project.

There’s no limit on the number of custom fields you can have. Plus, you can use custom fields throughout BigTime to give you the information you need to make smart decisions.
