Overview

BigTime Foresight allows you to visualize resource demand, forecast financials, and analyze project profitability using data from your BigTime account. Once you purchase Foresight, you can enable it directly in your BigTime account following the steps outlined below.

Before You Start

Before you can turn on Foresight, BigTime's Customer Experience (CX) and Development teams will first prepare your account:

1. After your purchase is confirmed, the CX team will handle some quick setup work behind the scenes to get your account ready.

2. Once everything is set up, CX will notify you that you can now enable Foresight on your own.

At this point, you'll be able to enable Foresight directly from your BigTime account.

Required User Rights

To enable Foresight, you must be a System Administrator in your BigTime account. Only users with this role have access to the Integrations section and can turn features on or off.

Enabling BigTime Foresight
Required Rights BigTime System Admin

If you are not a System Admin and would like to enable Foresight, please reach out to your account administrator.

Enabling BigTime Foresight Step-by-Step

Step 1: Start the Enable Process

Log in to BigTime ➡ Go to the My Company tab ➡ Go to the Integrations ➡ Select BigTime Foresight tile

1. Navigate to My Company > Integrations > BigTime Foresight (or Settings > Integrations if your firm is on the new navigation).

2. Select the BigTime Foresight tile.

3. Click Enable to begin the process. If you do not see the Enable button:

  • Refresh your browser.
  • Clear your cache.
  • If the button still does not appear, contact BigTime Product Support.

Step 2: Data Sync

Once you click Enable:

  • BigTime will start setting up Foresight for your firm.
  • Your BigTime data (staff, projects, contracts, etc.) will sync into Foresight.
  • This process may take a few minutes or several hours depending on the amount of data.

  • You can continue using BigTime while this process runs in the background.
  • During this time, you won't yet see Foresight features.

Step 3: Turn Foresight On

When the data sync is complete:

1. The System Admin will see a notification in BigTime (bottom left corner of your screen) confirming that setup is complete.

2. You may also receive an email notification if you have email notifications enabled.

3. Click the link in the email or notification, or navigate manually to Active Features in your BigTime account.

4. Toggle Foresight ON in Active Features.

5. Refresh your browser. Your navigation will update, and Foresight will be available.

Note: In some cases, Foresight may be automatically turned ON after the sync completes.

Where to Access Foresight After Enabling

Once Foresight is enabled, you can find its features in several areas of BigTime:

  • The Resourcing tab
  • The Project List
  • The Team tab within any Project
  • The Basic Info tab of the Staff Profile

Troubleshooting Enable Issues

  • If the sync fails, you will see a notification that the integration failed.
  • You can also check the status by returning to the Foresight Integration screen.
  • If this happens, contact your Account Manager or CX representative. The CX team will work with Product Support to resolve the issue.

Disabling Foresight

If you decide to stop using Foresight, the System Admin can turn it off at any time:

1. Go to the Foresight Integration screen.

2. Click Disable.

3. Confirm the action and refresh the page.

Your data will remain intact, and you can enable Foresight again after the same process.
