Overview
In professional services firms, setting employee avatars, project logos, and color codes improves report clarity, making it easier to identify individuals and projects quickly. This allows managers to monitor performance and profitability more effectively while reports become more intuitive to interpret. Additionally, these visual elements support cross-departmental communication and reduce the risk of errors.
To better illustrate these benefits, here are five key ways that visual customization in BigTime Foresight enhances project and team management:
Enhanced Report Clarity: Using employee avatars, project logos, and color codes in BigTime Foresight helps make reports clearer and faster to interpret, enabling easier identification of individuals and projects.
Improved Monitoring: Visual customization aids managers in effectively tracking performance and profitability, providing at-a-glance insights on key metrics.
Streamlined Cross-Departmental Communication: Visual identifiers support clearer communication across teams by reducing confusion and highlighting project status or ownership.
Reduced Error Risk: Implementing recognizable visual elements decreases the risk of misidentifying projects or team members, enhancing accuracy in assignments and reporting.
Customizable Project Prioritization: Color coding allows firms to assign colors based on project priority, ownership, or status (e.g., green for high-priority, red for urgent), improving visual organization.

Project Color Coding
A company can internally define the meaning of project colors to easily customize a visual system that works for you and your firm.
For example, green might indicate high-priority projects, blue could represent long-term initiatives, and yellow could mark projects in the planning phase. Red might be reserved for projects requiring immediate attention due to potential delays or issues.
Additionally, project colors can signal ownership by assigning a specific color to each project manager. For instance, all projects managed by one project manager could be coded in purple, while another manager’s projects might be consistently marked in orange.
This color-coding system clarifies project statuses and makes it easy to see who is responsible for each initiative at a glance.
